A lot of people love Instagram Stories because they’re a great way to share quick snippets of your day with your followers. But sometimes you might not want a story to repeat itself over and over again.
In this post, we’ll give you some tips and tricks on how to stop Instagram Stories from repeating.
Check if You Have the Most Recent Update
If you're constantly seeing the same three Stories at the top of your Instagram feed, even though they're not from anyone you follow, you're not alone. Instagram has been plagued with a bug that's been causing Stories to repeat, and unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a fix quite yet.
However, all is not lost. There are a few things you can do to work around the issue until Instagram fixes it for everyone. The first thing you can do is check to see if you have the latest update. If you don't, make sure to update your app.
If you have the latest update and are still seeing the same Stories over and over again, there are a few other things you can try. One is deleting and reinstalling the Instagram app. Another is logging out of Instagram and logging back in. Finally, some people are finding success by switching to a different account or clearing their cache and cookies.
Check Your Phone's Storage
One of the reasons why your Instagram Stories might be repeating is because you don't have enough storage on your phone to save new stories. When your phone runs out of storage, it will start re-using old stories to create space for new ones.
To fix this, go to your phone's settings and check how much storage you have left. If you're running low, delete some old photos and videos to free up some space. You can also try upgrading to a larger storage plan if you need more space.
Check Your Internet Connection
A common reason why Instagram Stories might start repeating is because of a weak internet connection. If you're having trouble with videos or images loading, that might be the reason why your Stories are playing back-to-back.
Make sure you're connected to a strong and stable internet connection before watching any Stories. You might also want to try restarting your phone or modem to see if that fixes the issue.
Close Other Apps Running in the Background
When it comes to managing your data and storage, it's important to close any other apps that may be running in the background. This includes games, social media apps, and email clients.
If you have an iPhone, you can do this by pressing the home button twice and looking at the apps that are currently open. Swipe up on an app to close it.
If you have an Android phone, you can do this by going to the Recent Apps menu. Swipe left on an app to close it.
Restart Your Phone
One fix that sometimes works is to simply restart your phone. This will refresh your app and possibly stop the stories from repeating.
If that doesn't work, you can also try deleting and reinstalling the app. This will force Instagram to download all of your old stories again, which might stop the problem from happening.
Lastly, you can try updating your app. This can be done by going to the App Store (on an iPhone) or Google Play Store (on an Android phone) and hitting the "UPDATE" button.
Delete the App and Reinstall
If you're still seeing the same story on your feed, the problem might be with your app. Try deleting and reinstalling Instagram to see if that fixes the issue.
Though there's no foolproof way to stop Instagram Stories from repeating, using any or all of the methods outlined above should help cut down on the number of times they appear in your feed. If you're really desperate to avoid repeats, you could also consider temporarily disabling notifications for the Stories feature.
